You can look, but please don't touch
DoorNicole OrriensHubby likes to show his love for me, by physical contact. He likes to visit my side of the bed, and then wrench his clammy foot between my warm legs. And if that's not an option, he wants to at least put his hand on my shoulder. Just so I know that he's there. Sweet...
The joke is on hubby
DoorNicole OrriensHubby slipped on the stairs in the train station, while trying to race the other travelers for the exit. Obviously this is not without risk, because he wears Birkenstocks come rain, snow, icy sleet, hail or shine. Hence he is now sporting an eye decorated with all kinds of unfashionable colours. Every day he studies...
The proper care and feeding of husbands
DoorNicole OrriensAccording to my mom, and Dr. Laura, author of the book The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, men are basically very easy to manage. Just throw enough sex and food their way, and they're content. The first time my mother threw this advice at me I was a bit shocked. Mostly because it concerned Sex,...
Say something nice?
DoorNicole OrriensI was starving for some positive reinforcement, so against my better judgement I asked hubby: 'Please say something nice to me?' In my defense: it had been a very long day, and the kids had been awful! Hubby immediately got that familiar deer-in-the-headlight look, while I waited patiently. Minutes went by, and the silence got...
Dancing with my husband
DoorNicole OrriensLife can get busy. And sometimes you kinda get lost in the shuffle. Dance lessons to reconnect And lose sight of your husband. Which is why my hubby and I decided to take up ballroom dancing. Ever Sunday evening, for the last year and a half we go dancing. We hold each other as we...
Mine
DoorNicole OrriensAnd my husband spoke and he said unto me: 'I have not seen fit to give you my neglected old desk, filled with yellow pages from 1999, and other stuff I have forgotten I have, to you. I have received your request, and rejected it. I'd rather have my desk just standing there, doing nothing...

Awww, sounds like a lovely photo. Don't be saddened by her comment, martial relationships change as children come along. The love is strong, dutiful and romantic but not as young love. I believe children know can see love and know it, in all its forms :0)
I agree that relationships change but it still can be strong and romantic if we work at it.
At least the two of you are still the topics of her artwork. Not only that, but when she thinks of you, the fist image which comes to mind is a pleasant one. Whenever my wife and I go out for an evening (ummm...right in 2009), we are very straightforward about telling the kids we need some time not being parents. A popcorn and a movie seems to cure them of heartsickness pretty quickly:)
Thanks Kenny. That's a lovely way of looking at it.
Kids are so funny! Wonder what her picture would like if she drew you now? Hehehe
That sounds ominous Becky Jane. Now you've got me worried!
