Mommy Calculus

My sons Pete is very loud. He shouts a lot.

I think all that shouting means he's got a surplus of energy. So, if I make sure his energy level goes down, he should shout less! I put my thinking cap on and came up with this brilliant mathematical equation:

Pete has got to much energy (A)
He's very loud (B)
In other words: A = B!

My goal

Pete has less energy (C)

Pete is not so loud (D)
Or: C = nót B!

I'm certain Einstein would be real proud of me!

I must have miscalculated....

All I have to do now, is make sure Pete gets rid of this surplus of energy. So I threw in some variables like biking a ten miler, and an hour of judo lessons. But I must have miscalculated somewhere, because it didn't work. He wasn't even a little bit tired, and still very loud.

Now I've got a whole new calculation:

A + B equals D: one very fed up mom.

  1. If you ever find the formula please let me know will you? I think i have it a little bit worse off having twin boys and it normally goes if one is loud the other one has to be that little bit louder and if he gets louder the other one has to get even louder than that, i'm pretty sure that on most days im living in a zoo lol..

Wouldn't have it any other way though 🙂

  2. Boys do have a lot of energy don't they?!!! I'm a pretty big beliver in running them ragged too, but I have found it can backfire as well because the more tired they get they can go on overload and they can't come down. I'm sure there is a perfect formula, but, alas, I too have not found it!!! Great piece, extremely clever!!! I love your writing!!

  3. Love your equation! 🙂 Found you on the Blog Hop and I am your newest follower! I would love to have you stop by and visit our blog if you want to! We also have a link party going on this weekend if you want to come link up your blog!
    Have a great weekend!
