How much do you pay for a haircut?
I have made a discovery! The maintenance costs of my sons are much higher than the maintenance costs of my daughters. Because my boys have actual dos, whereas the girls simply want long hair thereby saving me tons of money by seldom visiting the hairdresser. The same goes for me: I've been succesfully sporting The Cheap, also known as Long Hair That Could Do With a Trim for nine years now.
Easily offended!
I consider myself a loyal and gentle person, but my persona of client at the hairdresser is very easily offended. And since I'm too cowardly to speak up when I feel mistreated, I'm very promiscuous when it comes to hairdressers. There are hairdressers who are late for my appointment, hairdressers who offer terrible, cheap coffee and hairdressers who use water that's way too hot. Afterwards I'll pay them, smiling a friendly smile, while I'm thinking: 'Never again!'
This promiscuity has offered me lots of information about different hair dressing salons and their prices. The cheapest hairdresser I came across charged 23$ for a haircut, and the most expensive one charged 35$.
But the cheapest of them all is my husband: he simply shaves his head until there's nothing left.

Ray Stevens sings about the importance of finding the right hairdresser in this funny song!
We do a lot of haircuts at home, with a occasional trips to a professional. I have a really hard time finding hairdressers that know how to cut naturally curly hair, so I avoid going as long as I can.
I have no idea anymore about the price. It's probably been ten years since I've been to a hairdresser. I think I might faint if that's what they're charging now. I love the song. It's always been one of my favorites.
Well--For myself is $0 we've been blessed to have two hair dressers in the family, because I I wear my hair long and only get a trim once a year I'm set. My daughter gets her's done, right before school every year-a little more of a style-so we pay $10. the boys are about $15 every 3 months.
It is no easy task to find a good hairdresser! I've been on the lookout for about twenty years, and still haven't found him or her.
Wow, that really is a lot of money! For $95 they should make you look like a million bucks.
Now that you put it so bluntly, guess you are right, I´m also very promiscuous when it comes to my hairdressers. Even more so now that I´m living in a new country and desperately seeking a good old fashioned hairdresser like the one I used to have back home ; )
Hope you have a great week,
Lolo
I am sporting that same "long hair that could use a trim" look now because it costs, on average, $95 for a haircut for a woman where I live. There are slightly cheaper but these are nothing more than a bowl placed over the head and a prayer..... I am the same as you though and generally change hairdressers rather than call them rubbish to their faces... that's changing but slowly!
Wow, your cheapest haircut is my most expensive! I wonder why they charge so much! Makes me wish I knew how to cut my own hair. That'll spare me the trauma of bad haircuts.
