Shopping triggers
I have discovered something about myself: I am very sensitive to shopping triggers. Don't know what those are? Let me explain: shopping triggers, are triggers that make you want to shop!
Shopping triggers
My shopping triggers are:
- Junk mail
- eBay
- Walking through the mall
- Blogs with cute stuff you can buy
- The promise of a discount
- Feeling bad for myself...
One might say: 'Well, then don't gó to the mall! Dón't go surfing on eBay. And most certainly do nót read your junk mail!'
And that someone would be right. Even the bible says: 'Lead us not into temptation!' If even God isn't allowed to tempt us, how could I qualify to tempt myself?
I keep myself on a tight leash
So usually I'm a Good Girl, keeping myself on a very tigh leash. But sometimes, when I'm not looking, I suddenly find myself on eBay, scouring for sheepskin boots and the newest Joy Fielding.
At times, I may even go as far as to make a bid! Luckily, usually nothing comes of this, because I'm always outbid.
I've discovered something else about myself: I'm a very sore eBay loser. But at least as a loser I don't spend any more money!
What are your shopping triggers?
I'm fortunate, I dislike shopping. A rare trait for a woman, I know. If I had a trigger though, it would be boredom. So keeping busy helps. I'm usually the shopper who knows what she wants, walks into the store and goes right for the kill. I come out with what I went in for. One exception: the grocery store. Isn't even remotely possible to leave there without something other than what I went in for. Cute post!
I get excited like that when there is a good sale and I have a coupon on top of it! My husband has introduced me to the eBay auctions also, and sometimes there are really great deals from this also. I can understand the shopping triggers! Thanks for sharing with #SocialButterflySunday! Hope to see you link up again this week 🙂
I am like Michelle above. I don't enjoy shopping, especially at the mall. However, I do have a few shopping triggers - sales and clearance! But I still ask myself if I really need it or just want it because it is on sale.
Thanks for sharing on #FridayFrivolity. We'd love to have you share with us again.
The Internet makes shopping so easy (and I love that whatever buy comes right to my door). It's definitely easy to over shop. Thanks for sharing at Mom-to-Mom Mondays.
SALE!! SALE!!SALE!! This kind of sign board triggers shopping for me. Thank you for sharing with us at #HomeMattersParty. We would love to have you again next week.
I love your post, sorry about missing out on Ebay. I have to constantly ask myself if I really need it. I have had plenty of junk build up in my time and now it is gone I don'e want it back.

You made me smile with your expression of 'going right for the kill': )
That sounds very purposeful and determined!
I can totally relate. There's nothing like a good sale ánd a coupon!
That's a very good question indeed to ask yourself. 'Do I really need this, or am I only interested because it's on sale?'
Yes, the internet is a whole different kind of shopping. I always feel like it's my birthday when the postman delivers a package!
I think you did very well getting rid of a lot of junk. I know that can be hard. It's indeed the trick not to let it back into the house!
I'm a sucker for eBay but I go through phases of on there all the time and then nothing. Thanks for linking up to #justanotherlinky xx

I often find myself swept on ebay toooooooo.... ;P Such a bad / fun habit... I've gotten some great deals, and then totally gotten suckered into some terrible purchases as well. *shakes head*
Thank you for the laugh!! #FridayFrivolity
