Keeping the home fires burning. Literally.

When we moved to the country there was one thing I knew for sure: I was going to have a fireplace or woodstove in our living room.

Curling up in front of the woodstove

Fireplaces and woodstoves create a warm atmosphere. They make me want to curl up with a book and a cup of hot tea. And I just love looking into flames and pondering life. Sure, you can go sit and stare at your central heating system and ponder life. But it's just not the same, now is it?!  Also, I'm always trying to get our bills down, and I figured by burning wood I wouldn't burn through our money so damn fast.

I'm happy to report I got my wish! We are now the proud owners of a woodstove. My husband took some convincing though. But I painted a beautiful picture featuring sheep rugs. I use it every day. The wood stove I mean. The sheep rug I have yet to buy.

Nostalgic cabinet heater in my kitchen

I like it so much I'm thinking I would like the same effect in our kitchen. I my dreams we have one of those beautiful Aga's! But my husband keeps assuring me: 'Only in your dreams!'

Admittedly, there 's no room in our kitchen for an Aga but I believe in the saying: 'If you can't make it, fake it'. So I started searching for gas cabinet heaters for winter and electric stoves and such. And I found this really cute electric stove heater. I would love to have it in my kitchen. And it isn't even all that expensive at 99.99.
