Taking time for yourself as a Parent
Parenting can be hard, especially when your kids are younger. This makes taking some time out for yourself even more difficult when you need it the most.
But if you do get some me-time, instead of feeling guilty about it, try to spend it in the most relaxing way possible to come out of this break refreshed and energized to tackle your life. Here are some things you can do to make the most of your me-time:
1. Reading
Reading can be a massive way to feel great by yourself. Whether you are a self professed bibliophile or just read a book here and there, it is always a good thing to take a copy of your favorite book and sit reading it if you are feeling stressed out with your routine.
2. Coffee time
Coffee can provide a brilliant calming start to your day. Try having the cur of coffee by yourself before your kids wake up so that you can feel alert and awake.
3. Public transport
If you commute in alone public transport, use this time to just sit by yourself. You can even plug in your earphones and let the music transport you. Or if you like, you can just look out of the window and watch the trees pass by from your window. You can also play some online bingo games to de-stress yourself.
4. Massage
There are very few things better than a massage. If your work involves sitting down hunched at a desk, a massage can work miracles. It is also a great cure for week long stress that parenthood brings with it.
Try these tips for the perfect recipe for some much needed alone time and let us know how it goes in the comments section below!

Fun post! It's always good to have a reminder to schedule some "me time." I really could use a massage right now, haha. Thanks for sharing at the Home Matters Link Party:) #HomeMattersParty --Sara @ Find It, Fix It or Build It
I laugh every time someone says to get up before my kid and workout or have a cup of coffee. Nice in theory, but... mine wakes up about 5 or 5:30 on his own these days, ha ha! Yeah, that's not going to happen. I sneak a few minutes to myself after he's in bed and then head off to sleep myself. 😉
My kids are up at the crack of dawn, I wish I could be up to have coffee before them, but getting up at 5 am for that is not practical. I do love to give them an activity so I can have coffee alone when they are up though 🙂 It's funny i'd rather coffee alone then shower alone if I had to choose!
