Recipe for a happy hubby in a song

It's a wellknown fact: after Summer Vacation divorce rates go up. Apparently it can be quite stressful to have the love of your life around you all the time. It's all very well to promise: 'for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health,' but no one said anything about Summer Vacation!

And I too, am struggling a little bit with getting used to my husband being home all the time. Especially since he likes to advise me on how to do my work, which annoys me to no end!!! I mean I do it all the time, without his help, so I really don't need nór want his advice. But I keep telling myself: 'It's his house too, it's his house too...'

Then I heard Billy Currington's song telling women how guys like to be treated. Two lines struck a chord in me especially:'When I come home, I want you to just go crazy,' and 'He dont play dead when I wanna pet him.'

My husband is not going to know what hit him!

  1. Kudos to you, for taking care of hubby. It's so easy to forget after time that we once would climb mountains just to make our husbands happy. I hope I never take my husband for granted.

Cheers to all of us lucky enough to have not perfect, but wonderful husbands. 🙂

  2. what a great song! Haven't heard that before! Too funny!

I must agree, vacation was stressful this year, but I think it's because it took so long to wind down, and it was our first while trying to keep track of a toddler!

  3. Yes it is definitely an adjustment when my hubby is home for a longer time than usual. For him and for us. He's not a sit in the chair and relax kind of guy so that usually means projects for him.

  4. I hadn't heard that divorce rates increase after vacation. I wonder if it's because people think they can go on vacation and try to put things back together? Like, one last ditch effort. But, a great marriage takes effort between vacations too. The mundane parts of everyday life are where marriage really happens. Great song 🙂

  5. What a great song... I get it! I'll wag my tail and jump all over him!! ~When hubby gets home at our place... I have to wait about oooo 20 minutes for him to say hello to me... you see there are 4 furry family members and one daughter to get through before he gets to me... I am so okay with that. Blessings/

  6. OMG I know when ever I visit you I'm guaranteed to get a laugh, you really make me see the funny side of things. I thoroughly enjoyed this post and the SONG! It really struck a chord with me :0) Thanks for posting.

  7. I think what happens during Summer Vacation is that people suddenly find themselves confronted with their spouses fulltime. And apparently cracks that were hidden, become visible. But I don't think that's a reason to get a divorce, just a signalthat there's some work to be done!
