The endless possibilities of the internet
There's just so much you can do on the internet nowadays. Like dumping someone.
'Kirk dumped Stephanie today by email,' my thirteen old daughter told me. And she added: 'That's the third time she got dumped by email already.'
I smelled a great parenting opportunity to teach them some high morals, so I said: 'That's not very nice of Kirk! If you want to break up with someone you should do it face to face.'
And he called her a c**nt', my daughter added.
'That's absolutely terrible!' I declared. 'You tell Stephanie she's better off without that foulmouthed boy!'
Obediently she tweeted my parenting wisdom to Stephanie.
'It's a disgrace, really it is,' I said to my husband. 'What is the world coming to!' But of course he didn't hear me, because he was busy popping balloons on the internet.
Maybe I should tweet him a heartfelt message.
Face to face of course.
Me no likey! That's terrible! She is WAY better off. I hope she realizes that. 😉

First off bravo for your daughter to be able to share things like that with you. Oh and that Kirk sounds creepy. I am relieved not to have the internet around during my teen years...growing up is hard enough as it is.
*sigh* And I thought it was bad when I was a teenager and guys broke up with me over the phone. I can't imagine being a teen today. I almost feel bad for them. Almost.
Oh dear. Not many people seem to take time for "old fashioned" conversation anymore:(
My hb too send e-mail and text messages more then actually writing things down on paper to me. We still use face time to talk more though when he is overseas.
I feel you! In our ten years together, my husband has never written me a love letter on paper. He tells me that the emails he has sent me already counts as love letters. LOL.
