Those poor Norwegian parents
When you send your kids off to summer camp, many a parent feels a bit weepy and worried. 'What if he doesn't like it there? Will she make friends? What if she gets homesick?'
But seldom do you worry about a madman disguising himself as a policemann, who then starts to shoot the kids! It's the kind of horror story that would make even Stephen King say: 'That's too much!'
I can't imagine the terror, and anguish the Norwegian parents must feel, and my heart goes out to them!
I've been debating with myself whether I should talk about this shocking news with the kids, but I'm worried I'll scare them. Like I'm scared.
How do you handle these kind of terrible news stories in regard to your kids?
Hi following u through friday blog hop, kindly take a look at:

I doubt mine have heard about it.
If they come to me with questions, I answer them honestly. I do that with everything they ask about.
This is a very sad story and very disturbing as he dressed as a police officer. I don't think very young children need to know about this. They are probably not aware of what is happening unless they live in Norway. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Norway and the family of the victims and my heart goes out to all of them. Honestly I wouldn't tell my children. I feel like there's so much negative events in the world that if I expose my children to all of them, they may never feel secure and eventually become isolated and maybe even paranoid because of fear that things like these might happen to them. Sure don't let them be ignorant and continually teach them safety but also don't let them lose hope in humanity...
It's just awful isn't it? It makes me feel so much more protective of my wee man, I know I can't protect hime from everything but I'll die trying if I have too. My heart goes out to the parents of those poor children.x
